Among all the goals and principles present on this web page, the primary objective of our profession is healing people. Our goal is to achieve a level of treatment previously unknown in the dental faculties of Hungary. We try to achieve this by continously training ourselves on courses, lectures both in and outside Hungary. We are also conducting several studies in our chosen fields of interest, to better understand our speciality. Most of our colleagues successfully work in private practices beside their duties at the department. This proves that the concepts and principles tought by our team are not just theoretical. In fact they support the successful every day healing.

Dental treatment on our department is done mainly by the dental students as a part of their practical education. Their supervision is done by the team of specialists, resident dentists and PhD students. In special cases, when a treatment is indicated, which could be beneficial for the education of our students, the teaching dentists of the faculty also do dental treatment.

Our specialties are connected to two main fields of dentistry: Operative Dentistry, and Esthetic Dentistry.

Operative dentistry consists of two main fields: Endodontics and Cariology. Endodontics is the field of dentistry dealing with the curing of the root canal, the pulp, and the diseases resulting from the sickness of these. Cariology is the part of dentistry which envolves diagnosis and curing of the hard tissues of the tooth. This can be achieved with multiple approaches f.e.: inlays, onlays, overlays, veneers, fillings.

Esthetic dentistry is not a real dental speciality on its own. We included it in the name of the faculty because the members of the department show large interest in this field, and we are the only department who are involved in teaching the subject Esthetic Dentistry with the leadership of Dr. Paul Gerlóczy (honorary associate professor, president and founding member of the Hungarian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry).
