The University of Miskolc has been organising the International Conference of PhD students biannually since 1997.
At each of these events, some 350-400 young lecturers, researchers and PhD students took part from 15-18 countries.

The objective of the conference is to give PhD students, young lecturers and researchers an opportunity to present and discuss their scientific achievements, to establish new relations.

During the conference interesting lectures will be given by well-known scientists from Visegrad Countries so as to provide professional training. Information about the lecturers and their presentations is provided on the webpage.

 

The language of communication is English.

Papers of max. 20 minutes duration can be presented in the sections. Video projectors, laptops and overhead projectors will be provided by the organisers. Poster papers can be displayed on a 1 m² surface area per paper. Papers of the conference (both oral and poster, 4 or 6 pages, size A/4) will be available electronically on a CD, if the ready-for print version of the presentation is sent to the University of Miskolc in printed form via ordinary post and it is also electronically uploaded at www.tuko.hu/phdkonf_upload.php both in PDF and WORD format, and the registration fee is transferred till the deadline. Formal requirements can be downloaded from the homepage of the conference. Papers will undergo professional pre-selection before they are accepted.

 

Conference fees: (The sums contain VAT and free attendance of the professional training courses). Participants from the Visegrad Countries (Slovak Republic, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary) get 50% support by the Visegrad Found’s to cover the costs of their accommodation and meals.

 

Registration fee including organisational and publishing costs of one paper: 100EUR+bank charges (one paper)

Full board approximately: 80EUR / 5 days

Accommodation approximately: 100EUR / 6 nights

 

One participant can present maximum two papers. The 100EUR registration fee covers the costs of the first paper. The second paper will cost an extra 40EUR.

Participants will be accommodated in the UNI-HOTEL on campus in apartments with 2x2 beds. Full board will be available in the restaurant of the university. Accompanying persons can be invited to the conference: accommodation and full board are available for them as well for extra fee.

We would like to make your stay more enjoyable by organising optional programmes.

We advise you to make your choice in advance, but it will also be possible to sign up for these programmes - though only in limited number - during the conference.

 

Please note that participants from the member institutions of the Association of Carpathian Region Universities (ACRU) organisation may apply for further support at the ACRU to cover the costs of the conference. You can find more information on ACRU Grant Scheme on the website http://acru.eu.sk.
