The Faculty of Dentistry and UEM have had an ERASMUS bilateral agreement since 2010, and it is among the most active ones. The first student mobility was realized in the autumn semester of the academic year 2011/2012, when one 5^th year Hungarian student had the opportunity to study at UEM, and one Spanish student spent a semester at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Szeged. In this academic year we were happy to receive three students from UEM, and three of our students visited UEM in exchange.

The main goal of our visit was to get acquainted with dental education at UEM, as student feedback pointed out some differences between the curricula of the two institutions, which necessitated coordination with the director of the International Office at UEM (Faculty of Biomedical Sciences), Úrsula JAÉN PÉREZ, and with the head of the dental program, Fernando FERNÁNDEZ. During our discussions we could talk about the differences and settle the main problems. The Spanish party expressed a general satisfaction with Hungarian students, but the importance of the mastery of Spanish was also stressed, as without the native tongue of the country students face difficulties in everyday patient care. We expressed the same in terms of English, as the education of foreign students at our faculty takes place in this language.

UEM is a relatively young university (it was established in 1995) and it is one of the Laureate International Universities of Spain. It is one of the most dynamically developing Universities of the country and it provides an outstanding education to its students.

On the first day of our stay we visited the clinic where postgraduate training takes place and we had the chance to join the case presentations of young dentists. On the same afternoon we gave lectures for the master students and their teachers. We also overviewed further cooperation possibilities with the program director Prof. Dr. Jaime JIMÉNEZ and Prof. Dr. Xavier RODRIGUEZ.

On the second day, the director of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Beatriz CALVO de MORA, showed us around the clinic of the undergraduate students and we got to know the academic system and the infrastructure of the school.

We also visited the main campus of UEM, the theoretical and practice facilities (simulation laboratory, etc.). We found that the school indeed provides high-end infrastructure and excellent education to its students.

In general, the academic and administrative staff of UEM showed great friendliness and hospitability toward our students and teachers, therefore we would like to further strengthen our cooperation.

We would like to warmly acknowledge the help and support of the International Relations Centre of the University of Szeged in arranging our visit to Madrid.
